Welcome to Quilting News

March 2024

Message from Lisa

Well, I'm glad that I had an extra day in February to get this newsletter done for March. The studio has been very busy.

With a quick trip last weekend to Quilt Con in Raleigh, NC and now preparing to Retreat for a week in Nags Head, NC, this is just a busy time of the year, but one that I look forward to with my besties. We have lots of fun activities here in the studio. We have a Rope class in March after we get back from retreat. This is a really fun class. Our wool group is really making a fun project this month and you can join us for our meeting. Then in April we have our Crow and Sunflower class. You can get involved in this small project to make. We have another three day sewing retreat in April that you can participate with also.

I have some new classes and ideas running through my head and just need to sit down and put them on the books. So don't sit idle

We have many of our group under the weather and we want to keep them in our prayers. Please keep Jan Hanlon in your prayers for healing and strengt

Thanks again for your continued support.

See you soon!

Wooly Friends Group

Welcome to a very new and special group of ladies.

We will be making these cute eggs for Easter at our next meeting in March. You can buy a kit from the group or bring your own supplies. This is going to be a fun one. Anyone can join us, just let Lisa or Phyllis know what you want to purchase in advance.

Wood Eggs are $5 each,

Grass covered are $3 each,

Wooly Strips 25 for $5.

You will need to bring a glue gun and extra glue sticks, 1/4 inch wool strips, Straight Pins and a Silicone mat. If you have any questions, contact Lisa or Phyllis.

Please bring your finished items to share and some hand work to fill the time while you are here. We love snacks to eat during this time also. We are open to people joining us any month. Please join our fun and exciting group of ladies. Hope to see you very soon!

Machine Cleaning!

Sue Cuzzocreo does a great job on cleaning the older model machines that have metal gears and parts. Several of our ladies have had their machines serviced and love that Sue takes pride in her work. So, if your baby needs a little TLC, give Sue a call so you are ready for the new year. Cost is $70 plus any parts you might need. Her cell is 907-232-8312

Sewing Retreat - 3 Days

This has become a popular event here. Sew much gets done in three days. EACH person needs to bring a snack to share for this event. Pack a lunch if you need too. Cost is $15 for 3 days. Sign-up on the board in the snack area.

Schedule:

April 8-10

May 13-15

Quilters Daycare Group

Quilter's Daycare is a Thursday sew group. We have some open seats each week if you want to join our group. EACH person is asked to bring something to share in the food area on Thursdays. Lisa has been providing lunch and it is getting too expensive for me to continue each week. Volunteers to bring meals are much appreciated. Please also contribute a small amount for drinks in the change box. I don't mind stocking things, just asking for a little help with the cost. If we all help a little, I won't have to raise the seat price on Thursdays.

Your $5 covers your seat charge each Thursday (to help with the electric bill). See you soon! Reminder the door opens at 9 am, not earlier. (I'm with mom getting her up and ready for her day)

Thanks and see you soon!

Thanks again to everyone for their support and by telling your friends about my quilting services.

Please bring a bag with your project that you are dropping off. Thanks!

Payment is accepted by Cash, Check, Venmo, Zelle and Paypal.

See you soon! Trixie and Lisa
