June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month
Youth who identify as LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) or who are exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity need to know that Girls Inc. is a safe space where they can be themselves and not worry about experiencing hurtful treatment from others. Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey will always strive to be inclusive so that young people are able to express who they are without fear of judgement.

Ambassadors Club combats period poverty in our community
Our Ambassadors Club wrapped up their Period Poverty advocacy project last month! During the past few months the high schoolers planned, advertised, collected donations, and created info packets for over 300 period kits to be distributed to the local community. Ambassador Ganiah says, "We wanted to do something impactful for the community. We tend to think everyone has everything they need for their period but that isn't always the case ... I feel proud of this project and my peers!"
Registration now open for Sisters in STEM Summer Camp
Sisters in STEM inspires girls to have fun while exploring coding, engineering, and technology. 5th-8th grade girls can attend this one-week virtual camp and participate in hands-on activities, learn about STEM careers, and engage in workshops focused on wellness, leadership, and self-care!

Register for Sisters in STEM Camp here, or email Niah nlombo@girlsincpa-nj.org or Jo jmaccollnicholson@girlsincpa-nj.org for more information. Girls will have the option to join either Week 1 (June 27 through July 1) or Week 2 (July 25 through July 29).
