Happy New Year!
2024 is our 30th year in business! We are so thankful to be here and offering you alternatives to chemical use on your landscape. Thank you so much for the support through the years!
Changes to lawn care services. We will no longer systematically apply herbicide to our lawn care clients with the minimal herbicide option. And we will not use weed and moss killer on lawns that are not maintained properly.
We work in partnership with you to keep your lawn healthy. Our natural lawn care treatments build the health of the soil and grass. Your watering and mowing practices help the grass grow strong roots and dense cover.
Two years ago, we started a program called Bee Friendly Lawn. You probably know that more than half the native bee species in North America are in decline. Your lawn care practices can help, or harm, our native bees. Bottom line: to help save bees, keep your lawn healthy.
In a step to protect bees, birds and beneficial soil critters, we are requiring our lawn care clients to water their lawns over the summer to keep the grass growing and competing with weeds throughout the year. We have found that lawns that go dormant over the summer become thin, unhealthy and more susceptible to weed growth.
We know you may want to conserve water. But using water in the summer is more environmentally friendly than using pesticides in the fall. Our summers have become hotter and drier, making watering critical. We recommend watering from May-October.
If you water the lawn and mow properly. we expect it will thrive and outcompete most weeds. We can spot treat the broadleaf weeds that come up. Spot treating uses the least amount of herbicide. The spot weed treatment will be by request from the homeowner.
