Dear LPTS Community,

On December 14-15, 2022, the search committee for our next president gathered for its first meeting. It was a fruitful time as we became acquainted with one another and with this important task that has been entrusted to us. Assisting us in this process will be AGB Search, a search firm that has helped three of our sibling seminaries in their presidential search process over the last 24 months.

On Thursday the committee met with Loren Anderson, Ph.D and Shannon McCambridge, JD, LL.M, who will serve as our AGB consultants. Together we agreed on a timeline that we hope will mean welcoming our next president in June 2023, or soon after.

We know that you are understandably anxious and eager as we enter this new season in our beloved seminary’s life. Your confidential input will be extremely important as we begin this process. To that end, our consultants will host hybrid listening sessions on Wednesday, January 25, in Nelson Hall, Room 118. In addition to the listening sessions scheduled below, our consultants will be touring the campus and meeting with President Pollard one-on-one.

  • 10:00 - 11:00 am: Senior Leadership Team Listening Session
  • 11:30 - 12:30 pm: Students Listening Session
  • 1:00 - 2:00 pm: Staff Listening Session
  • 3:00 - 4:00 pm: Faculty Listening Session

Please fill out the 15-second form below by January 20, to let us know you will be attending your groups hybrid listening session.
I hope you will make every effort to be present for the hybrid listening session for your group.

On Thursday, January 26 the consultants will meet with the search committee to share impressions gleaned from their time with you. Again, all of your comments will be held in the strictest confidence by the consultants, and I ask that you honor your colleagues by holding any comments you hear in confidence. Our desire is to create a space where all can speak honestly and openly.

Throughout the search process the committee will communicate with the campus so that you can know where we are in our search. We ask for your prayers as we begin this process leading to that person who will joyfully and intentionally join us in our WHOSOEVER commitment.

In anticipation,

Mary Gene Boteler (she, her, hers)
