Hi and hello, Three Rivers Charter School! My name is Lindsey Quinn and I will be joining your school to serve as your new administrative assistant. I have lived in Oregon for half of my life and love adventuring around the PNW with my family and our dogs. Aside from hiking and paddle boarding, my hobbies include caring for a jungle's worth of houseplants, DIY projects and discovering new music just to list a few. My son is in 6th grade so I'm hoping that perhaps some of you can crack the code and explain to me how gaming is a way of life? Thank you for inviting me into your school, I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you!

6th, 7th, and 8th Graders!
Please make sure you have your alarms set for Monday morning and your student is in the parking lot at Athey Creek Church by 1:15 pm with all of their gear. Don't forget to have each student eat a healthy lunch! And remember, we need a copy of each student's negative rapid COVID test emailed to [email protected] before students are able to board the bus. The bus will leave at 1:30. Trackers is requiring masks on the bus both to camp and from camp, please plan accordingly. Remember to pack appropriately for the weather (see the weekly forecast for Falls City, OR below).

We will be sending daily updates from camp, so be watching your inbox. Please remember, we will be updating our website regularly on Friday, March 18th with times that the bus will arrive. Please do not call the school office for updates, as we will be preparing for their return.

We are looking forward to a week of great friends and learning experiences, including the Trashion Show on Friday, March 18th. Please see below for what students can bring from home to repurpose and recycle into "trashion" and join us for the show on Friday at 2:30 pm!

Counseling Corner

Over the past 8 weeks, lunch bunch has been meeting once per week to support students on issues of self-esteem and goal setting. We set intentions to guide us, considered the unique strengths of each student, and created lists of things we are good at and things that can be scary for us to do. Based on what was learned our 6/7/8th grade participants also developed SMART goals to work towards. Students are working towards starting conversations, asking for help, and thinking positive, just to name a few.
An activity that quickly became beloved is a therapy game called Totem. Through playing a conversation card game that encourages people to look at their bright side, each student received an animal and quality symbolizing their unique gifts. I am incredibly proud of the mutual respect and trust students placed in one another through this exercise. We learned how others appreciate our contributions in the TRCS community, and even recognized a few new strengths about ourselves. Just in time for ODE and 4/5 Week!

Warmly,
Ms. Layton
