Tony Riggio
Team Lead - Rock-It! Team
2021 - 2022 will be my 17th year travelling as a Team Lead and my 4th visit to Guatemala with B3. My first exposure to B3 occurred when our daughter Whitney began her 4 years of participating in B3. She has long since graduated from high school but still talks about B3 with fondness and how it really helped shaped who she is today. I always look forward to the shared sense of mission preparing for the project and enjoy the enthusiasm of the kids, parents and other Advisors. I have come to really appreciate how B3 impacted our daughter over the years. I am looking forward to working with this year’s team – and getting to know everyone. Each year I marvel at how impressive our young people are today- their compassion, their energy and their kindness and their intellect. I feel fortunate to have an opportunity to share this experience with the team and am certain that this will be another amazing year with Rock-It! and Builders Beyond Borders.

Carly Silva
Advisor - Amanecer/Mejuntos Team
I am so excited to be returning for my ninth year traveling with B3! I was a B3 student from 2007-2009, building in Ecuador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic with April Riggio/Team Rock-It! My experience with B3 in high school was incredible, and it helped inspire a sense of global citizenship and commitment to service that led to me attending Macalester College, majoring in Latin American Studies, and studying abroad in Costa Rica for a semester. After graduating from college in 2013 I came back to B3 as an advisor. I have been an advisor for six years, traveling to five countries as part of C-4, Trabajueños, Amanecer, and now the Amanecer/Mejuntos super team. I currently live in Cambridge, MA, where I spend my free time being unironically into the Boston Freedom Trail, buying too many books, Face Timing with my puppy nephew, and joining an adult skee-ball league. I am confident that this could be B3's best year yet!

Tomer Gat
Team Lead - EstrellonTeam
I originally joined B3 as a freshman at Staples High School, and ended up being a four-year senior. I loved every minute of my Builders experiences, and could not wait to come back. I have been a part of B3 for over 12 years now, and I very much look forward to seeing Estrellon continue to grow as a team while continuing the traditions, energy, and team spirit that we have developed. Currently, I am working as a Director in the Deal Structuring, Management, and Execution Team at Finacity Corporation in Stamford, specializing in the securitization of trade receivable. When I’m not at work or a B3 event, I enjoy running, cycling, playing soccer, photography and listening to music.

Martine Trinka
Advisor - Odyssey Team
This will be my 13th year with B3 and my 10th as an advisor. B3 has taken me to Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guyana, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Ecuador. As a graduate of Weston High School, B3 was one of the most profound and influential experiences of my adolescence, and has easily had the most enduring effect on my life. For me the most invaluable part of B3 is the exposure to and appreciation of cultures and places entirely different from our Fairfield County bubble. To quote Mark Twain, "broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." I am excited to return to escaping my little corner of the earth by traveling to Guatemala this year!
