Conferences, Graduations, and Seminars

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Hebrews 10:24-25

Dear Ministry Partner,

November is the busiest month for me to travel because I only rested for 10 days after returning from the 2023 CCI tour in the United States. Then, together with the Indonesian CCI team, I attended the global conference in Thailand. From the global conference, we continued with the 5 classes graduation activities and held a cross before crown seminar in Mamasa, West Sulawesi.

I am so happy because for the first time, three members of the Indonesian CCI team could travel abroad and interact with CCI members from other countries. Moreover, God uses these conferences – both through testimonies and sessions – to speak, confirm, and even provide guidance to the Indonesian team.

Team members realize that developing CCI ministry in Indonesia does not solely fall on the director's shoulders or depend only on CCI US donations. It is the responsibility of everyone, especially those of us in Indonesia. I really hope that in 2024, we can focus and work together to achieve the goals of CCI Indonesia.

After restarting CCI ministry in Indonesia in 2019, CCI Indonesia held its first graduation ceremony for students who had completed their training through all 10 BTCP books. On November 15, 2023, 5 CCI classes graduated with 21 participants. We are very grateful because this graduation was led by Dr. David Nelson, the President of CCI. We are also grateful that this event was attended by the Government, represented by Mr. Yonatan from the Protestant Christian Community Guidance. In his speech, he expressed great appreciation for what CCI is doing in training and equipping pastors across different denominational churches in the area. Furthermore, he plans for CCI to train over 100 Christian counselors funded by the government in the future.

During their visit to Indonesia, Dr. David Nelson and David Narvaez, Ministry Development Facilitator, also held a "Cross Before the Crown" Seminar to explain the seven descriptions of Christian leadership in the book of 2 Timothy 2. There were 50 seminar participants present. We are grateful that this seminar was being held for the first time in Indonesia, and it greatly encouraged the participants to apply their leadership skills in churches, households, and organizations.

Testimony From a Student

"My name is Rias, a participant studying in the Katirandusan class. I am grateful that I was able to complete the classes, even though I faced many challenges while studying. In the first year of being involved in this class, I experienced a miscarriage. It was quite painful because many people thought that the miscarriage occurred because I attended study meetings every week in the CCI class without resting. However, this did not make me give up or stop studying because I felt equipped and trained in this class. At the graduation, I was very grateful because I felt proud of what God had done in my life. I realized that graduation is not the end of learning, but I must continue to be committed to applying everything I learned in the class."

Prayer Requests & Praises

·      Grateful that the CCI Indonesia team was able to take part in the Global Conference in Thailand well.

·      Grateful that the first graduation for 5 study classes in Mamasa, Indonesia could be held and the "Cross Seminar Before the Crown" seminar could also be held and responded well by the participants.

·      Pray that as we enter December, all CCI classes in Indonesia will stop temporarily because class participants and teachers are focused on attending Christmas celebrations. Pray that the enthusiasm for learning will remain burning in their hearts.

·      Pray for plans to open a new CCI class at Unaaha Southeast Sulawesi.

·      Pray for partners and key people in North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi and East Kalimantan who are willing to work with CCI Indonesia in training and multiplying leaders.
