December 8, 2023

Dear Parents,

I hope to see you on Sunday morning at Mass and the Santa Breakfast. We know Christmas can be very stressful. There seems to be a shortage of time, money and relaxation. We are hoping families will take advantage of the kid-friendly event and pay if you can; it is donation only. There are beautiful raffle baskets and poinsettias. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Our students will be helper elves so come and celebrate the season with us!

If your child needs to leave for an appointment, vacation or any other early release, please send a note to the school office AND the teacher at least a day prior. We want to make sure that your child is ready and waiting for you in the school office when you come to pick them up.

It is also that time of year where germs are everywhere! Please continue practicing good hygiene by frequent hand-washing, covering mouths/noses when sneezing or coughing and keeping your children home if they are sick. If your child is sent home with a fever of 100 or more, they must stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. We don’t like seeing your child sick any more than you.

Thank you for all of your continued support!

ADVENT SERVICE PROJECT

The junior high Community Service Volunteer Ministry (CSVM) group is planning to collect items between now and December 22 for New Beginnings Pregnancy Care Center in Fond du Lac. New Beginnings is a non-denominational organization that believes in the sanctity of human life. They are a non-profit, Christ centered pregnancy care home providing a nurturing environment for pregnant women in crisis situations. Their purpose is to offer hope to mother and child without financial obligation by assisting women in carrying infants to term, teaching healthy parenting and essential life skills, preparing for independent living, and educating health and nutrition for themselves and their child.

We are asking St. Matthew School and Daycare families to help us in collecting new items for these young mothers in preparing them for independent living and caring for their newborn babies. We have divided the list of materials by grades and have a wish list for any families who can afford to donate costlier items. We appreciate your help in this Advent season to make a difference in other’s lives.
