Journeying through Lent with the Mystics
We are created to experience joy in communion with God, to love one another and to live in harmony with creation. However, our illusions of separateness and our transgressions separate us from God, our neighbors and creation, so that we do not always enjoy the life our creator intended. Yet, God calls us to, “return to me with your whole heart, rend your hearts, not your garments.” During Lent we are invited to return to God through prayer and reflection. Lent has always been a time for spiritual renewal. Since very ancient times, Christians of all ages and places, following Christ’s period of preparation in the wilderness, have observed the season with these disciplines of Lent—self-examination and repentance, prayer and fasting, sacrificial giving and works of love. This year you are invited to join us on a mystical Lenten Journey, to recall your essence as a spiritual being and to embark an interior journey of renewal that leads you into the heart of love. Each Sunday during this season as inspiration for our journey, our service will highlight and reflect on the teachings of various Christian mystics. Our services are structured to allow spaces for silence, prayer, contemplation and reflection.

A Woman’s Place: 50 Years of Ordained Ministry
Monday, March 4 at 6:30 pm
Fifty years ago in the summer of 1974, eleven women were ordained as priests for the first time in the Episcopal Church. This was an act of civil disobedience, an ordination loudly opposed by much of the church. Join us for a screening of The Philadelphia Eleven, a new documentary telling this important story. Our own Reverend Al Halverstadt was present at the ordination and will share more about this history.
This screening is hosted in partnership with our two Episcopal schools in Denver, St. Anne’s Episcopal School and St. Elizabeth’s School, and all are welcome. For more information on the film, click here. For information on parking, click here.
