THANK YOU

YOUR VOICE WAS HEARD

COMMUNITY BASED SAFETY PROGRAM FUNDED

WE ARE GRATEFUL AND COMMITTED AS EVER

A special thanks to the many community members including business owners, residents, community organization partners, and property owners who expressed support for the continued funding of the Community-Based Safety Program for fiscal years 22-23 and 23-24.

The diverse representation of people who emailed, called, and waited to speak in person during the public comment opportunities through the budget process was a hallmark of the many different people the safety program has positively impacted. On behalf of MMBA and Foundation Board and Staff, and our partners at Urban Alchemy, we cannot thank you enough.

On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors ratified the budget which included investments for the Community Based Safety Program in full, additional investments for the Tenderloin, and funding for economic recovery in the downtown core; including Mid Market.

Funding will support the continuation of the contiguous program area. As we look ahead, some of our program goals this year are deepening quality, consistency, and working collaboratively with city agencies to address persistent issues negatively impacting the neighborhood. It's also critical we harness, increase, and amplify the many good things that are happening. Theater performances are in full swing, visitors are returning, new businesses are opening while more events are being planned. Get out and support our businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs today.

Lastly, we also want to acknowledge and thank Mayor London Breed and SF OEWD, and the District Supervisors for their tireless work in the budget process and overall investments in the neighborhood.

There’s lots of work to do and we are committed as ever. A thriving neighborhood is everyone’s business.
