At Home With Wilton Library
April 21, 2021
Think, Read & Go Green
Tomorrow, April 22, is Earth Day. Celebrating Earth Day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it. Today we give you topical books centered around protecting our globe as well as the opportunity to join in a Wilton Go Green climate change program. Locally, our Wilton world is getting brighter thanks to lots of new faces around town. We encourage you to spread the good word about Wilton Library and invite new friends and neighbors to visit us. Check out 'the girl from...' books celebrating our newcomers. We've also got the return of Hot & Cool Jazz, Teen Baking, Zentangle art, tax information, and so much more. See you soon -- in-person, at the Drive-Thru, or virtually.
Books to Make You See Green
No envy here -- just a renewed consciousness about the importance of protecting the natural world and its limited resources. In honor of Earth Day, enjoy these fiction and nonfiction titles that explore a variety of environmental issues and conservation actions.

The Return of Hot & Cool Jazz: Taylor Eigsti
Friday, April 30 @7pm via ZOOM REGISTER HERE
On International Jazz Day 2021, please join us for our first Hot & Cool jazz concert since our 2019-2020 season was interrupted. Enjoy a spectacular concert performed by pianist Taylor Eigsti that was recorded in front of a live [socially distanced] audience last winter at the then long-time home of jazz legend Dave Brubeck. Indeed, Taylor works his magic on Dave’s grand piano in the dramatic two-story music room where Dave composed so much of his famous music. As a bonus, Wilton resident Chris Brubeck, award-winning composer and superlative trombonist and bassist, jams with Taylor on a few tunes. Instead of the usual Hot & Cool donation request, please note we are charging a non-refundable $20 fee per 'ticket' [the Zoom invitation link] that is part of the registration process. REGISTER HERE to pay the 'ticket' price and receive the Zoom invitation link.
