Letter From The President

Hi Tri Delta Sisters– We are excited to begin our new year full of events.
We will host some in-person events and some virtual events. We want to see your smiling faces! Please be sure to pay your dues for the 2021-2022 year so you will be “in the know” for our dues paid member event.
We are excited to be the Runner-Up in Excellence in Service to Others
(Community Service and Engagement) for this year’s Volunteer & Alumnae Awards. These awards were announced during the recent Virtual Volunteer Leadership Conference held by the Executive Office. This is not only our dedication to Cookies & Castles to support Scottish Rite and the Crescent Fund of Tri Delta but our membership involvement in many Dallas area organizations including The Family Place, American Heart Association, The Dallas Zoo, Howdy Homemade, Junior League of Dallas, and Bonton Farms– just to name a few. Congratulations and a heartfelt thank you for your service to our community!
DL,
Sandra K. Standefer

Join us for Story Time with Little Worm! We're excited to have Theta Kappa Alumnae, Family Therapist and Author, Laura Ann Pierce lead us in a story session. Gather the family around the computer for a virtual story session with Little Worm and his story about worry.
Laura Ann Pierce is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapist and Infant Mental Health Specialist. She is an owner of Insights Collaborative Therapy Group, a private practice in Dallas. Alongside providing therapy to young children, she encourages and educates parents as they strive to create and maintain a parenting philosophy that works for their family and contributes to the overall health of their child and the family as a whole. Once a week, she provides therapeutic consultation at Highland Park United Methodist Church Day School.
One of her favorite accomplishments is Little Worm: A Story About Worry. Laura Ann authored this children’s book to support her work as a therapist by giving families an opportunity to connect and share special time reading together as children learn to communicate, express their feelings, develop problem-solving skills, and discover new ways of relating to others. Little Worm shares a story about worry and fear, models a breathing technique for readers, and opens the door for healthy conversations about mental well-being.

Chapter Award Nominations
While the Chapter Awards took a short hiatus in 2020, we look forward to returning to our in-person presentation in 2021. We always strive to make it a special occasion, one where friends and family can join in the celebration and applaud each recipient’s outstanding contributions and accomplishments. All dues-paying members are invited and encouraged to participate in the Awards nomination process.
You may submit your nomination online or use the relevant downloadable form – all available on our website www.dallasdeltas.com. More details regarding eligibility and criteria for each award are also provided on the website.

|
|
|
Giving cancer patients and their caregivers not only hope, but a free place to stay in Dallas during treatment, the American Cancer Society Gene and Jerry Jones Family Hope Lodge will open its doors this fall. Fellow TriDelta alumnae, Meg Bittner, Senior Manager of Hope Lodge, will treat Deltas Around Dallas to a tour of this brand new, state of the art facility on Sunday, August 29th at 3:00pm. This is a unique opportunity as once Hope Lodge opens its doors to cancer patients, the public will not have access to tours due to COVID. Please join us for an educational talk on cancer and prevention provided by the American Cancer Society, hear from fellow TriDelta alumnae and 2-time cancer survivor, Beth Wilson Stavinoha, and experience all that Hope Lodge offers.
