KIMCHI & BAP
Pop-up restaurant (lunch & dinner) in the kitchen
Get your taste buds ready for our newest pop-up restaurant: Kimchi and Bap! Owner Lisa Hamblen was adopted from South Korea at the age of two and raised by a Korean mother and American father. Some of her favorite memories growing up were watching her mom cook. Today, Lisa shares her identity through traditional Korean dishes and she wants customers to get a taste of her culture. Make plans to visit and try menu items like bibimbap, a rice dish topped with a variety of fresh and seasoned vegetables; tender marinated Korean beef bulgogi; sweet and savory japchae noodles; and kimchi, the side dish that brings together these incredibly vibrant flavors.

Dine in or carryout. Credit and debit cards preferred. Exact cash accepted.
Their first pop-up was on March 10 and 11 for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 8 p.m.
Check the pop-up schedule for further dates.

Location:  Lenexa Public Market, 8750 Penrose Ln., Lenexa, KS 66219

Our beloved Utepils celebration is back this year. Utepils is a Norwegian word that essentially translates to “outdoors lager.” It marks the enjoyment of a first beer outside after a long, cold winter. With the arrival of spring and the addition of several new breweries in Johnson County, there is no better time to cheers to outdoor beers! We'll have beer, outdoor games, food, music, and more!

Admission is free.

To make the most of your Utepils experience we’ll issue you a special passport. Make sure you stop by the information table to pick one up. Get it stamped at each brewery booth and the Farmers Market information table, then turn it in for your chance at winning a prize! Buy local. Buy beer. Buy local beer.

Beer’d & Mustache Contest
Do you have a dapper beard or stylish 'stache? We'll be the judge of that! Enter the second annual Beer'd & Mustache Contest during Utepils at the Lenexa Public Market (a celebration of enjoying the first beer outside after a long, cold winter). You could be crowned the champion of facial hair in several categories. Win a prize package of groovy grooming products!

Cost: Free to enter.

Inclement weather plan
We hope it doesn’t rain on our celebration but in the unfortunate event that it does, the event will be canceled.

Nature beckons. North and south, east to west, you’ll find that hiking paths and trails await all throughout the metro, ready to be explored at a moment’s notice.

There’s more to Kansas City than high-tech streetcars, pre-Prohibition cocktail bars and world-renowned art museums. You’ll find that hiking paths and trails await all throughout the metro, ready to be explored at a moment’s notice. North and south, east to west, a clear blue sky looms overhead while your next adventure extends further into the wilderness. Nature beckons.
Here are some great places for hiking in and around Kansas City:

While parts of the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens (pictured above) may be dedicated to the preservation and restoration of eight natural ecosystems, the five miles of paved and woodchip paths are an Overland Park favorite when it comes to hiking in the metro. Wind your way through the botanical gardens at any time of the year for beautiful sights.

One of the largest urban parks in the country, Swope Park (pictured below) is a timeless Kansas City tradition located just 17 minutes southeast of Downtown KC.
