HPS PTO Elections to Take Place at the Next PTO General Meeting on Thursday May 6 at 7:30 pm
In order for the PTO to exist and to evolve, it requires new parents every year who want to engage and effect change. We seek a broad reach so that we can incorporate the opinions and desires of the entire Hyde Park School Community. There are absolutely no requirements to volunteer in a PTO position, and you will be mentored by the person currently serving in that role. Every parent on our current PTO board juggles work, kids, life, and was once a first-time volunteer. So you will not walk alone--this is your opportunity. We welcome all candidates to come forward and join the team!!

SLATE OF ELECTED POSITIONS- Voted on May 5, 2022, @ 6:45 pm during our last meeting of the year.

Here is the list of PTO Officers and general duties: If you have an interest in one of the below positions please send an e-mail to president@hydeparkschoolpto.org by May 2nd. All candidates will be announced prior to the meeting.

Vice Treasurer- Assist the Treasurer with the basic financial operations of the PTO. Train on our financial management platform (Quickbooks) and become familiar with the regulations and policies established by the Board. Following his/her initial term of office, the Vice-Treasurer shall automatically, and without a vote, fill the office of Treasurer for the following year. Position as described in PTO Regulations available upon request.

LSDMC Representatives (1) - The Local School Decision Making Committee (LSDMC) is the primary governing body for Hyde Park School. The committee is comprised of community members, parents, support staff, teachers, and administration. Each of our representatives must be a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of a student at Hyde Park School, and CPS employees may not serve as parent representatives. You must commit to a two-year term ending in June 2024. Candidates should also be able to attend all, to the extent practicable, of the LSDMC meetings.
