Worship with Us

Maundy Thursday Worship at 7pm in the Sanctuary (Facebook Live).

Jesus and the disciples gather for Passover. Jesus washes the disciples’ feet and shares communion for the first time. They go out to the garden after dinner. He is betrayed and arrested there. We will extinguish our final Lenten candles.

Good Friday Prayer Service at noon in the Historic Sanctuary (Facebook Live).

We will take time for silence, scripture, organ and prayer on this emotional day.

Good Friday Worship at 7pm in the Sanctuary (Facebook Live). Listen to parts of Jesus’ trial which leads to darkness and the crucifixion. What does this mean for us today?

36 Hour Prayer Vigil from 7pm Friday through Easter morning at 7am

Please sign up to pray for one specific hour in your home. There are several spots remaining. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0d4ca4ac23ab9-annual

Easter Sunrise Service at 6:15am in our Elm Lawn Cemetery just behind the Historic Sanctuary (Facebook Live). We will go to the tomb with the women to discover the unexpected and unbelievable. Where will we go after that?

Easter Morning Worship in the Sanctuary at 10am (Facebook Live) Alleluia! We will flower the cross and all of our Lenten candles will blaze again. We will figure out where our Lenten theme goes next – "Jesus does. How about you?"

Easter Egg Hunt following the worship service.

Following Sunday worship we will enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt with the children. We ask parents to pick up their children in Fellowship Hall and go with them on the hunt. There will be appropriate eggs for toddlers in a separate area from the older children. We will wait to start the hunt until parents are with their children. Happy Easter everyone!

Earth Day Every Day: How to Get Involved This Earth Day

Earth Day is coming Friday, April 22, and this year’s theme is Invest in Our Planet. Regardless of how you choose to invest, there’s never been a more important time to celebrate this holiday. As humans run short on time to curb climate change and prevent catastrophic calamity, it’s important for everyone to take serious, bold actions toward a sustainable future.

https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2022/

Fortunately, there are many ways to get involved, whether you join a local event, host something on your own, or simply celebrate at home.

Intertwine Interfaith Iftar Dinner 2022

Saturday, April 23 | 7:15-8:45pm | Congregation Shaare Emeth

As the Holy Month of Ramadan is upon us, Congregation Shaare Emeth, Parkway United Church of Christ and the Turkish American Society of Missouri invite you to attend our Intertwine Interfaith Iftar Dinner. We are so excited that this will be our very first large in-person gathering since the pandemic physically distanced us.

Iftar Dinners bring individuals from different religious and cultural communities together to learn about the significance of the month of Ramadan in Islam, engage in friendly table conversation, and break fast with an Iftar dinner. All faiths are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Iftar is the name for a community dinner held daily after sunset to mark the end of a day of fasting. Ramadan, the ninth month in the Muslim calendar, is a special time for the Muslim community. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims worldwide fast from dawn to sunset to achieve greater self-discipline, self-purification, and compassion for those less fortunate.

We hope you can join us at Shaare Emeth.

Please RSVP by April 17, 2022 using this link...

This is a free event but a $10.00 donation per person is appreciated to cover the cost of food.

Ramadan Mubarak!
