Teachers of the Day Celebrated at Canal Street Campus
As part of the Christian Brothers Foundation annual gala, held virtually this year, parents were able to bid on “Teacher of the Day” auction items to enable students to enjoy the special honor.
Aubrey Spreen (3C) enjoyed his day as Teacher of the Day which started with a welcome on the white board from homeroom teacher Bethany Carrigee. Then he took time to read to the class.
Stephanie Vlosich, 3V homeroom teacher, always starts her day with a Starbucks coffee, so Teacher of the Day Cate Womac (3V) had to have a beverage, too, but she chose a raspberry lemonade instead of coffee.

Cycling Clubs Start Up at Both Campuses

Middle school students on both campuses began taking advantage of spring-like weather in March for bicycle rides around town.
Girls from the Canal Street campus rode with principal Richard Neider and seventh grade homeroom teacher Heather Dougherty for two recent rides, the inaugural ride along the lakefront and a second ride of 21 students in Audubon Park. Some parents also joined the rides.
The City Park campus cyclists, guided by seventh grade homeroom teacher Doug Moreau, enjoyed their first ride of about four miles through City Park and then on their second ride followed the bike path along Bayou St. John to the Robert E. Lee Boulevard path to Marconi Drive to Harrison Avenue and back to campus, a little over a six mile ride. Nineteen students and 15 parents participated in the second ride.
