God's Acre MCC ~ Weekly Newsletter
12th April 2021
Greetings!
Good morning,

My sermon yesterday was all about Christian unity and the early Christians.

The song played after my sermon, is a great favorite of mine, the words are so beautiful “They will know we are Christians by our love, by our love.”

I really believe that what sets Christians apart, is the love they feel for Christ and the love they feel for one another.

Some people think Christians are just ‘do gooders’; well we’re certainly more than that; we are people who care about each other, the homeless, people who are less fortunate than we are.
To that end I would like to appeal to you all; we have several shelters in Ocala who are in need of basic toiletries for men and for women. I would like to ask if, when you’re doing your next grocery shopping, you could pick up some extra toothpaste, soap, shower gel, female products and deodorant; in fact, they need any personal care products.

This act of kindness will not only make you feel good to give, it’ll all make those on the receiving end, feel good to receive the kindness of strangers.

That’s just one way we can show our love for humankind this week; another way is just to pick up the telephone and talk to somebody you haven’t spoken to for a while.

As we are not currently having ‘in person’ worship, I think it would be a really nice gesture for you call, or text, somebody you haven’t spoken to for a while; I’m sure they’d be grateful to receive your call.
I know that many of you miss the ‘in person’ services, but there are many positives to having online worship; for example, if you happen to be on vacation, or visiting friends/family, you no longer have to miss church, because it’s recorded!

You can take church with you, on your iPad, phone or other devices. So, let’s all stay connected & reenergized this week.

May God bless you, as you bless others with your kindness this week, Amen.

In Christ

Rev. Janice

Cases of COVID-19, in Florida, are currently 2,118,713 - that's another steep rise in cases by of 38,681

In Marion County, cases rise to 29,405 that's another increase of 324 new cases this week.

Did you know that people 16 years & up, can now register for the vaccine at Paddock Mall? If you know anyone in that age range, please let them know, that they can go there to register & receive their vaccines.

Many folk have now received, or have a date to receive, their 2nd dose - don't forget to let us know when you receive yours. All over Marion County, teams are working very hard to get everyone vaccinated as soon as possible.

As Rev. Janice says, she is working on a policy, with the board, so that we can all meet up again in person, and worship together. That won't be next week, but plans are in motion. What a day of celebration that will be.

In the meantime, we still need to remain vigilant & do our bit to help Stop The Spread. SO: MASK UP - KEEP YOUR DISTANCE - WASH YOUR HANDS - STAY HOME - STOP THE SPREAD - LISTEN TO THE SCIENCE

We will continue offering the online pre-recorded services every week and we ask you to PLEASE keep supporting your church, as much as you are able - it is greatly appreciated.
