Let’s Move, Mississauga – Get Outside and Be Active, May 18-24
We all recognize the importance of staying active – especially if working from home or learning virtually. During the week of May 18-24, Mississauga residents of all ages and abilities are encouraged to get outside and be active. Whether you walk or roll, let’s all get moving while being safe.

You are also encouraged to keep track of your distance travelled. At the end of the week, if you have travelled 2 kilometres or more, go online and complete our digital certificate to share your accomplishment on social media using the hashtag #LetsMoveSauga.

When outside, please follow all health and safety COVID-19 guidelines by staying 2 metres (6 feet) apart from those not in your household and wearing a mask or face covering when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Let’s also remember to respect the rules of the road as a pedestrian, cyclist and driver for everyone’s safety.

For more information about the Let’s Move, Mississauga event, download the online certificate or learn more about road safety, visit Mississauga.ca/LetsMove.
Request a Slow Down Lawn Sign
Do you want to remind drivers in your neighbourhood to slow down?

The City’s Road Safety Committee has created "Slow Down" lawn signs for residents to place on their property to increase driver awareness. Lawn signs encourage drivers to slow down and follow posted speed limit signs.
The signs must:
· Only be placed directly on or in front of your property
· Be set-back a minimum of two feet from the curb or the edge of the road
· Not obstruct the road, median, traffic island, sidewalk, bicycle path or multi-use trail
· Be placed three metres or more from a fire hydrant
· Be inserted into the ground using the wire frame only
· Your sign may be removed or relocated at any time if it is unsafe

Please ensure that the lawn sign doesn’t create any obstruction or hazard for road users.

To order a lawn sign for your property, please contact 311. Learn more.
