“There are no words.” This was my nephew’s verbal commentary to the changing of the leaves on a crisp Minnesota fall day. We were hiking at William O’Brien State Park last week and soaking in the beauty of the scenery. To witness the changing of four seasons through beginners eyes helps me to appreciate the wonder and beauty all around us. For many, fall is often a favorite season in our state. The trees are glorious, pumpkin spice lattes and apples are a delicious treat, and the temperatures remain moderate.

In the musical Hamilton, there is a line from one of the songs, “look around, look around. Aren’t we lucky to be alive right now?” It is so easy to get caught up and let our minds worry about the unknown future, or dwell on the past. Today is a gift—that is why it is called the “present.” Look around—God is ever present with us. The trees are clapping their hands and revealing the glory of God. May you sense the awe and beauty of this day and this life. Jesus is with you on your journey.

A quilters boutique will be held in the Gathering Area on October 10th between the 8 am and 10:30 am services. Time to shop for wedding or baby showers or Christmas gifts. We have the right gift for any occasion. See you then.

Two new “circles” of women are just now getting started. Circles are a community of women where fellowship, Bible study, service, and advocacy happen.. They meet monthly and they would love to have other women join them on this journey together.

Join us for Mom’s Night Out at Terri Rose Anderson’s house on Friday, October 29 at 6:30 pm. Please bring a lawn chair and dress for a bonfire (weather permitting). Join us for the Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Come and enjoy carnival games, chili cook-off, bingo, pumpkin carving contest (bring them already carved); judging will take place at 6:15 pm, costume parade (all ages!), free food and cake walk! This is an event for ALL ages. Feel free to invite your friends!
