ATBC Thematic Sections
We are actively inviting members to engage in the ATBC Thematic Sections. Please participate and get involved!

Through networking and collaboration, the Climate Change Thematic Section aims to discuss advances in climate change research and to provide a voice in the public and policy discourse of climate change. In the past year, this group hosted a webinar on "Climate Change: History, Environment, and Society" during the ATBC 2020 Webinar Series in Tropical Ecology and Conservation. Members of this group recently published in Biotropica a Virtual Issue on climate change impacts on tropical ecosystems which makes a retrospective compilation of papers published in this journal addressing climate change impact to tropical ecosystems. The group has several exciting activities planned for 2021 and is looking for more ATBC members to join and become part of the Steering Committee. If you’d like to join please get in touch.

Structure and Function of Tropical Ecosystems

Three other ATBC Thematic Sections focusing on “Nature & People,” “Biotic Interactions,” and “Structure and Function of Tropical Ecosystems” are seeking new leadership. Please contact our Executive Director if you would like to lead or participate in a Thematic Section focusing on these topics or if you would like to propose a new Thematic Section on a new topic. Thematic Sections aim to promote communication and collaboration on topics of broad interest to the ATBC membership. These Sections arrange and operate their own programs and activities with guidance and support from the ATBC Council and Officers.
