Memorial Day weekend is here and with it comes hope for a joyful summer season and the chance to once again make memories with family and friends. We remain incredibly grateful for the COVID-19 vaccine and that our organization had the opportunity to vaccinate so many people. See more details about vaccine availability and appointments below.

With 50% of the country's population now fully vaccinated, we hope for continued progress and a calculated return to normalcy. We will keep you updated as we navigate changing guidance and policies for our programs.

During the month of May, we held a fundraiser to assist a local family with the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible van. The family relies on an accessible vehicle for community access for their son who has Cerebral Palsy. Thanks to your ongoing support and the incredible generosity of Eastern Bank Foundation, the Plymouth Rotary Club, and The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod, we achieved our goal!

Family Gardening Workshop with the Plymouth Family Resource Center
8-Week Workshop
Ages 3-10 with parent/guardian
The Plymouth Family Resource Center will be running two sessions of a Family Gardening Group in person starting June 9th! Families will get the opportunity to learn about gardening through education and use their community garden. The group is geared for ages 3-10 years old with a guardian. At the end of each session, families will get to take home grown vegetables with them!

Diaper Pantry Now Open
The Family Resource Center of Plymouth Monthly Diaper Pantry is open to all families in Plymouth and the surrounding towns. No family will be turned away while supplies last! Families can drive or walk to the center. They have diapers, wipes, and a small amount of clothes on hand for families in need.

COVID-19: Homebound Vaccination Program Expanded

Beginning May 24, the Administration will expand the state’s Homebound Vaccination Program, in-home vaccinations for people unable to get to a vaccine site. This expansion will support continued vaccination of hard-to-reach populations, including the DDS community.

You may call (833) 983-0485, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, to register. Once registered, individuals will be called within five business days by the state’s Homebound Vaccine Provider, Commonwealth Care Alliance, to schedule an appointment. 

Note that the Homebound Program is primarily using Johnson & Johnson vaccines, which requires only one visit to an individual’s home. For 12-17-year-olds, the Program is offering Pfizer vaccines.

Shared Living Providers have the desire to open their home to provide support and companionship to an adult with a developmental or intellectual disability, autism, or brain injury.

They are not simply caregivers, but advocates and mentors that promote self-sufficiency through home and community integration.
