'Tis the Season of Giving!

TOY DRIVE

Village Hall will be collecting again this year for Toys of Hope. Unwrapped, new, toys can be dropped off at Village Hall at any time, a collection bin is on the front porch. We will be collecting until December 21st. As always, we appreciate the kindness the residents show every year!

BIG BROTHER BIG SISTERS DONTATION CENTER

BBBS is coming to our area December 8 and 12! They're bringing their trucks to pick up gently used items at your doorstep-including clothing donations, coats, shoes and small household items. The Donation Center works in partnership with SAVERS and turns these donations into funds which 100% support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.

HOLIDAY SAFETY

Having company over?

If your driveway cannot accommodate the number of cars you are having at your

residence, you can easily submit an Overflow Parking Permit on our website under Forms. This form will go directly to the Police Department.

This will avoid parking tickets pursuant to Chapter 84 in the Village Code.

Tips For Preventing Package Thefts This Holiday Season:

  • Ship it to work
  • Enlist a neighbor’s help
  • Require a signature
  • Take advantage of alternative delivery options and alerts
  • Ask for your box to be nondescript
  • Report any suspicious activity

REMEMBER TO LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS!

SNOW SAFETY TIPS

With the colder weather comes the possibility of snow. Here are some tips to make it through a safe snowy season:

Clear your Fire Hydrants. If you have a fire hydrant, please make sure it is cleared of snow and easily accessible in case of an emergency.

Elderly Neighbor Check! Call the Police Department at (631) 427-2020 if you feel a neighbor may need assistance or just a simple check in. You can leave a message if you get the Police voicemail.  As always, if you need immediate assistance, please call 911.

Snow Shoveling & Plowing.  If you get your driveway plowed, advise them not to push your driveway snow into the street.  Snow-throwing duels between residents and municipal crews waste time, effort, and money as well as creating safety hazards. This will be enforced.

Drains. If you have a storm drain on your property or in front of your house, make sure it is clear of leaves and debris.
