The following students competed in the Region 6 National History Day competition and qualified for the state competition in April: Senior Paper - Ashley Allton; Senior Documentary - Juliana Barnhart and Kathryn Stone; Senior Performance - Elisa Skaggs, Cecilia Coglianese, and Alexis Reynolds. Kate Stone, Juliana Barnhart, and Ashley Allton have competed for 7 years with Stone and Barnhart, having twice qualified for the National Competition in the documentary category. Every year National History Day frames students' research within a historical theme. The annual theme is broad to allow students to explore topics in ancient, world, national or state history. Students draw a connection to the theme by understanding their topic's historical context and significance. The 2022 NHD theme is Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.
