"I am so grateful for the Ballard house. The Ballard house has been nothing but a blessing to Nari and myself. The amount of pressure and financial strain that has been taken off of my shoulders is indescribable. Having a home away from home is so beautiful. The Ballard house doesn’t feel like a hotel or a recovery center. It truly does feel like home. Everyone that volunteers or works at the Ballard House has been more than wonderful. The positivity and the amazing energy you feel entering the Ballard house is life-changing. With everything we all have going on, it’s so nice to have somewhere to rest your head and know that you are truly cared about and taken care of. The staff at the Ballard house goes above and beyond to ensure everyone staying there is comfortable and safe. The community is absolutely wonderful. The way the different organizations come together to help feed us and keep supplies stocked within the house is truly amazing! I’ve never met so many selfless people in my entire 34 years of life. never once had Nari called the Ballard house a hotel. She is always called at home because that’s exactly how it feels to her. She loves being there and I’m so grateful that as she heals, she can be somewhere where she feels so comfortable. as a parent, it is a wonderful feeling to know that when I’m away from my daughter, she is somewhere where she is absolutely loved and care for. My entire family is so thankful for everyone at the house and all the volunteers that keep this organization going. I thank God for allowing us the opportunity to stay at such a wonderful facility."

Volunteer Spotlight

Susan Mohnke

"I began volunteering at The Ballard House in May of 2023 and had no idea the positive impact The Ballard House would have on me. I am so honored to be a volunteer and to have met the wonderful staff, other volunteers and so many guests.

The Ballard House is truly "home away from home" for our guests. It is so rewarding and humbling for me to assist guests with anything they may need to make their stay at the Ballard House as comfortable as possible. The overwhelming community support via donations makes this possible. It has been such a blessing to get to know many of the guests as they take a few minutes to share their stories, share a hug and see their smiles, despite what they are enduring.

I am so thankful for The Ballard House and look forward to many more Tuesday afternoons!"
