A SPECIAL MESSAGE
Dear friends,

Autumn is here, and with it comes a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment -- a time to look back at previous events in our lives and enjoy the bounty of our hard work. I can think of no better season to share my excitement for all that Weingart Center has accomplished so far this year, and what it means for the communities we serve.
In July of this year, the Weingart Center broke ground on 11010 SMB, Weingart Center's first permanent supportive housing development designed to meet the needs of Seniors and Senior Veterans experiencing homelessness. Together, with developer Valued Housing and the financial support of voter-approved Proposition HHH, JPMorgan Chase, District 5 Councilman Paul Koretz, and numerous other supporters, the Weingart Center is able to provide much-needed support services to two of L.A.'s most vulnerable communities. The estimated completion date for 11010 SMB is Mid-2022.
In September of this year, the Weingart Center, in collaboration with Chelsea Investment Corp, broke ground on the first of two Weingart Towers. Standing tall at 19 stories, Tower 1A will be a beautiful metal-and-glass hi-rise situated around the corner from our existing facility on 6th Street in Downtown Los Angeles. As Mayor Eric Garcetti stated during our groundbreaking ceremony, this tower, which is designed to mimic other first-class downtown buildings, will stand as an example that L.A. is a “city of belonging." Funding for 1A was obtained from Pacific Western Bank, tax credit equity invested by the Richman Group, and funds from several state programs. The estimated completion date for Tower 1A is December 2023.
These are just two of five developments that the Weingart Center is undertaking. Future developments include a 12-story high-rise at 554-562 S. San Pedro Street, an 18-story high-rise at 600 S. San Pedro Street, and a 6-story development at 7024 S. Broadway Street.

I am a firm believer that innovative solutions to ending homelessness should include both interim and permanent supportive housing. 11010 SMB and Weingart Tower 1A expand upon the Weingart Center's existing portfolio of interim and permanent supportive housing options in Los Angeles and will provide more opportunities to the diverse communities we serve. No matter where a person is in their transition out of homelessness, the Weingart Center will have an innovative solution to address their needs.

With so much change in the air, there has never been a better time for you to help the Weingart Center fulfill its mission of providing the basic tools necessary to help someone stabilize their life, secure income, and find permanent housing. The Weingart Center offers many programs and services that are designed to empower, transform, and break the cycle of homelessness for thousands in the greater Los Angeles area.

Your tax-deductible donation helps the Weingart Center provide direct services to more than 44,000 economically disadvantaged individuals a year.

Thank you for your continued support, and may you have an enjoyable Autumn!
