For your thought:
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name.
--John 20:30-31

Highlights from Holy Week 2021
|
|
|
Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make St. Mark's first ever "Hybrid Holy Week" and Easter Celebrations happen! We couldn't have done it without you! And thanks to everyone who participated in services in-person and online! All the hard work would be pointless without you. If you missed one or more of the Holy Week services (or attended them and just want to relive the highlights) we've created a short (5 minute) video with footage from St. Mark's Holy Week 2021! We hope you enjoy the video and make plans now to participate in all the liturgies of Holy Week next year (April 10-17, 2022).

More Seating Options for In-Person Worship
|
|
While still maintaining social distancing and max-capacity limitations, we have begun to open more seating in the Nave to allow more opportunities for in-person worship. Virtual worship will continue to be available in tandem with in-person opportunities. You may find all hybrid worship experiences here.
A few reminders about our COVID-19 Safety Practices for In-Person Worship (registration is required for each liturgical service):
- Check-in/Temperature Check is required for contact tracing purposes.
- Masks are required during worship.
- Please sit in your assigned seat– (pew pads indicate the section open for seating)
- No congregational singing is allowed at this time (soft humming or whispered singing while masked is permitted).
- Passing of the Peace must be conducted in non-contact ways.
- Communion in one kind (bread only) and will be brought to where you are seated.
- We ask that you resist gathering in groups before or after service inside the building.
- An outdoor, socially-distanced coffee hour will be available in the Fish Garden, weather permitting.

If you are a member of St. Mark's living in the ABQ area, you should have received an Easter Care Package delivery last Saturday, including a silver tray and candles to help you create an "Eastertide Wreath" and a laminated calendar to help you keep track of daily devotions in Eastertide. We invite you to join other members of St. Mark's in reading the Book of Acts in Eastertide. Members of St. Mark's have created 50 short daily video recordings that will enable you to hear the entire book of Acts over the 50 days of Eastertide. More information and links to your daily readings and videos here.

During Lent 2021, friends and members of St. Mark’s gathered on Zoom each Monday and Wednesday evening for a half hour to share “Lent Madness Dinner Devotions”. Twice each week, between 4-6 households, with participants ranging in age from 5-95, came together to read and discuss the two saints appointed in the Lent Madness line up. Each participant then made their case for which saint should get Mother Sylvia’s vote. After voting, we created a collaborative acrostic poem, based on the name of the saint who received our collective vote to share in the Lent Madness comment section. As an Easter Surprise, one of our participants (Alex Henrie-Naafa, friend of St. Mark’s, age 9) compiled all of our group poems into a single illuminated manuscript. We hope you enjoy the beautiful poems and images in St. Mark’s Illuminated Lent Madness Manuscript 2021! Poetry by the Lent Madness Dinner Devotion Group (Fiona Morton, Ken Eberhard, Jordan & Evelyn Early, Joseph & Marcel Varoz, Sabine Henrie & Alex Henrie-Naafa, Greta Harmon, The Miller-Mutia Family). Illustrations by Alex Henrie-Naafa.

COVID-19 NEWS & RESOURCES
|
|
Car Donations: Any vehicle with a title now can be donated to ABQ FaithWorks! Our partner organization Give Hope a Ride attributes vehicles donated through this page to ABQ FaithWorks
Quarterly Update: Also, mark your calendar for April 28 at noon for a lunch-hour quarterly update. This month we will focus on work with the unhoused and how you can safely volunteer with us! The link will be posted on www.abqfaithworks.org closer to the date.
2021 Asylum Seeker Update: As many of you know, a group of five sites received buses of asylum seekers passing through Albuquerque in 2019. Those sites formed the 5-Site Council and include Albuquerque Interfaith, Catholic Charities, Jewish Asylum Seekers Initiative, Lutheran Family Services and St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church. The group reconvened several weeks ago to discuss and prepare for the possibility that asylum seekers would once again need our assistance in Albuquerque. We are contacting you to inform you of our progress in preparing, should we be asked again to assist our neighbors on the border in southern New Mexico.
Our approach is to collaborate even more closely than in 2019. We intend to have a similar team structure and combine volunteer forces for easier scheduling. While we have no way of predicting when or if we will be called upon, please be aware that we are preparing as best we can. We have identified a location to accept donations of hygiene supplies and clothing. We are working alongside our partners from the Department of Health and City and State Officials to be sure we can provide both a welcoming and safe environment for asylum seekers as well as the many volunteers and donors when the time comes. We would like volunteers to be vaccinated for COVID.
You are valuable collaborators in this work. We will continue to do our best to prepare and to keep you apprised of our progress. And we will call on you when the time comes to help! For more information, please contact Jane McGuire via email.
