Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF) held its welcomed return and reopening at its new location, the Lathon Wider Community Center, at 137 Henry Street in Stamford, on August 14th. As you can imagine, CTKF had nothing short of a busy summer! With relocation behind us, we are now full speed ahead, once again, and eagerly serving the families of our community.
CTKF is grateful to its volunteers for their unprecedented assistance and involvement throughout the transition process. Our wonderful group of volunteers helped us move quickly and efficiently, so that CTKF could distribute wardrobes to children before the start of the new school year. Our shoppers rely on us for back-to-school wardrobes, and our volunteers understood the timeliness of reopening before school began.
CTKF envisions our new "home" as a place where families struggling can turn when they experience financial hardships, free of judgement. So many families are not able to afford proper clothing for their children and have no access to jackets, heavy sweaters, or pants to wear during cold winters. Can you imagine how this impacts a child's physical and mental well-being, and the challenges they face as a result? This is where CTKF steps in, but with your help! CTKF is counting on your support to help us grow and improve our new store to serve more families in need. Let's work together to continue doing good in a community that really needs us. Donate now to transform lives for the better, one child at a time.

Team CTKF Rocks the TD Five Boro Bike Tour
|

A small but mighty crew of 8 riders, Team CTKF participated in the 43rd annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour on August 29th, 2021. With last year's tour unfortunately getting canceled, the team came out ready to ride this year among over 20,000 cyclists. Team CTKF raised over $16,000 for children in need!

Team CTKF had 2 special riders this year, Jared and Linda. Pre-pandemic, Jared and his mom, Linda, spent time helping out at CTKF. When Jared was searching for inspiration for his Bar Mitzvah volunteer project, he came across the opportunity to ride for CTKF at the TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Since he and his mom had done a lot of riding together during the pandemic, it seemed like the perfect fit! Together they rode over 20 miles. Thank you Jared and Linda, for your incredible efforts, and dedication to our mission!

Thank you to the Norwalk Boat Show attendees who visited our booth to learn more about the work that CTKF does. Over $5200 was raised: $1800 from people filling our donation box and $3400 reflecting the rental fee for a silent auction donation item of a ski house in Stratton, VT. The $5200 will go directly toward the needs of the kids that CTKF serves. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked hard soliciting donations and engaging with attendees.
