On the move to assist more pet families in need!
Dear friends,

C.A.R.E.4Paws is on the move again in 2022! Not only are we staying just as busy as in 2021, but we have expanded our mobile clinic services to San Luis Obispo County through a great new partnership called Snip & Chip SLO. We're also fundraising for a brand-new, 37-foot mobile unit that will allow us to assist so many more low-income pet families in Santa Barbara and SLO Counties.

Plus, we look forward to our Happy Tails Celebration & Fundraiser on Sunday, May 22, at the Music Academy in Montecito.

Learn all about this and other pawsitive news below.

As always, thank you for your support!

Let's celebrate the happy tails!
On Sunday, May 22, we host our Happy Tails Celebration & Fundraiser at the Music Academy of the West, 4pm to 8pm. Our event highlights our work in the community and features heartfelt Happy Tails from some of the thousands of pet owners we help. Guests savor great food, wine and "meowgaritas," and acoustic guitar music in a beautiful setting. Our presentation and live auction take place at 6pm and can also be enjoyed virtually from home.

Tickets are $100 and we also offer meaningful sponsorship opportunities!
Snip & Chip SLO launches!
This year, we have expanded our vaccine and spay/neuter services to San Luis Obispo County in partnership with nonprofits Animals in Need Fund and Animal Shelter Adoption Partners (ASAP). During our first Snip & Chip SLO event on February 20 at Nipomo Dog & Cat Hospital (NDCH), we altered and vaccinated 100 petswe thank Feline Network of the Central Coast for the generous sponsorship! C.A.R.E.4Paws' mobile team also hosted a clinic at Nipomo's Lucky Dog Pet Resort on March 11. This Sunday, March 20, we go back to NDCH to provide FREE canine distemper parvo and feline distemper vaccines (through Petco Love) as well as other shots, microchips and more at low-cost from 10am to 2pm. We will alter at least 35 dogs and cats.

The Snip & Chip team receives dozens of spay/neuter requests weekly. If you want to support our efforts, we are truly grateful for donations and sponsorships. Click below for more info!
This week, C.A.R.E.4Paws was one of 10 nonprofits to receive an Anniversary Grant from Montecito Bank & Trust, including generous program funding and a video about our organization (posted below). We cannot thank the bank and its amazing associates enough for supporting C.A.R.E.4Paws and so many groups in our community! Our clinic team goes the extra mile
In 2021, our team helped 10,000 dogs and cats with critical care. We will host 225 clinics this year, almost double the number of events hosted in 2018. We are also excited to share that with the help of several generous donors and grantors, C.A.R.E.4Paws has put a down payment on a new, 37-foot mobile clinic. The demand for our services is overwhelming and with this much larger unit, we can host additional clinic days and assist many more pets in need. We have $125,000 left to go until we reach our fundraising goal. For more information on how to help, please contact isabelle@care4paws.org.
Grooming for pets of the unsheltered
We now help dogs of unsheltered and low-income community members in Santa Maria with much needed baths and nail trims at Doggie Parlour, a wonderful new partner. These events take place every second Monday of the month. We also continue to provide grooming at Alameda Park in Santa Barbara every first Thursday.
Free shots with Petco Love
Yes, it's true! We offer FREE feline distemper (HCP) and canine distemper parvo (DAPPv) vaccines in March for pet families in need thanks to a co-promotion with Petco Love. Plus, as always, we provide other shots, microchips, flea treatment, dewormer and nail trims at low-cost during all walk-in clinics. Spay/neuter surgeries and medical treatment require prior appointments. Check out our schedule here!
We're excited to be featured on TVSB and its 805 Focus show with Dr. Cynder Sinclair of Nonprofit Kinect.
A donation drive at Deckers
We thank everyone who came out to help pet families in need during our donation drive-thru at Deckers Brands on March 5. We appreciate your kindness and generosity! A special thanks to Deckers' awesome employees for contributing a LOT of food, and to Deckers for giving big discounts to donors and C.A.R.E.4Paws' super volunteer crew. Thank you also to Montecito Pet Shop for all the pawsome items donated to the raffle!
Keeping pets happy and at home
When pet families in our community are happy, we're happy! We have distributed 800,000 pounds of pet food since March 2020 to keep animals healthy and in their homes. If you want to support our efforts, please donate funds for food or give through our Amazon Wish List. Thank you!
Pet portraits with a purpose
Our amazingly talented, animal-loving friends at the United Boys & Girls Club in Lompoc keep making pet portraits for a donation as part of our Paws Up For Pets youth program. Portraits are painted on 11x14 canvasses from a photo you send us and cost $50. As you can tell from the picture, Heather and Bailey are happy with their finished portrait and we know you will be too! Inspire a young artist while helping C.A.R.E.4Paws fund programs that assist pet families in need. You will treasure the portraits of your pet for a lifetime. The portraits also make wonderful gifts and can be a special way to honor a pet that is no longer with us.
Help us find foster homes!
Family violence has sadly escalated since the pandemic started, making a program like Safe Haven critical in our community. Thanks to our temporary boarding and foster care services, more survivors are able to seek refuge with their pets, which prevents suffering and saves lives. In addition to our partnership with Domestic Violence Solutions, we collaborate with several other human welfare agencies that refer clients to us.

You can make a big difference by fostering a pet in need. For more information, email us at foster@care4paws.org.
Since 2009, C.A.R.E.4Paws has grown significantly every year. Still, nothing prepared us for the pandemic and its aftermath and the huge number of requests for help that we now receive. You, our amazing supporters, make it possible to assist the thousands of pet families that need us more than ever. Thank you so much!
