A Framework for the Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Join CETL for a special presentation on Artificial Intelligence by Gretchen Purcell Jackson, MD, PhD, FACS, FACMI, FAMIA, Vice President and Chief Science Officer, IBM Watson Health Associate Professor of Surgery, Pediatrics and Biomedical Informatics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This talk will present a framework for the evaluation of AI in health care, encompassing studies of technical performance, usability and workflow, and impact. The process of AI evaluation will be described using the phases of clinical research employed for drugs and medical devices, with a discussion of the similarities and important differences.
