Library Closings

In honor of Abraham Lincoln's Birthday, the library will be closed on February 5, 2024. As we pay tribute to this influential figure in American history, we encourage everyone to reflect on the principles and ideals that he stood for. Our doors will reopen on February 6, 2024, ready to welcome you back for another day of exploration, learning, and community engagement. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you on our return.

Our library will be closed on February 19th, 2024, in observance of President's Day. This closure is a tribute to the leaders who have shaped our great nation. Take this opportunity to reflect on the contributions of past presidents and perhaps explore literature related to their remarkable achievements. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you again when regular library hours resume the following day. Happy President's Day!

The Museum Pass program is accessible to Delaware Library cardholders who are adults (18 years and older).

Visit your local library to borrow a museum pass and enjoy a wonderful, cost-free visit to one of Delaware's captivating museums. Presently, our selection includes passes for Mt. Cuba, Brandywine Zoo, and Tyler Arboretum.

For passes to additional attractions, kindly verify their availability through the Museum Key.

It's important to be aware that each museum pass comes with its own set of admission regulations. Reserving a museum pass signifies the patron's commitment to adhering to the library's museum pass policy. For further details, please reach out to our reference department at (302)328-1995 or click here.

Recipe of the Month: Chicago Pizza

Deep-dish pizza, a favorite in Illinois and nationwide, is believed to have originated in Chicago during World War II. It combines elements of a casserole and pizza, offering a substantial and affordable option during challenging times. The pizza dough lines a round pan with vertical sides, creating a deep-dish effect. Toppings, including tomato sauce, mozzarella, oregano, and Parmesan, are generously added, with options like Italian sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives, and pepperoni. This Chicago-style pizza has become a beloved and hearty choice for pizza enthusiasts.
