The Ultimate Guide to Writing a Standout Résumé

The red hot U.S. labor market might be shifting toward a cooling period. Rising inflation, interest rate hikes, and a possible recession on the horizon are driving some companies to slow or pause hiring. As the screws turn and things get tighter, the relatively open job market will become more competitive by the day. This is why it’s important to have a strong résu to ensure that yours will make it into the final pile of potential hires.

What makes this résumé work?

We feel that this is a strong one-page resume. It's understandable that the candidate goes with a one-pager given that her previous experience was similar to her most recent experience.

Our candidate decides against a Summary, which is fine if there is a strong Headline with a title and areas of expertise (Merchandise Buying, Coordination, Sales Analysis, and Training). He lists strong job-related Core Competencies.

We would have liked to see more accomplishments with quantified results. Overall, this is a strong resume.
