Honors College Projects

Three RVCC Honors College students presented their independent “Capstone Course” projects during a recent symposium held at the College.
Civic Engagement Award

Yanely Tepepa Rosales, a December 2021 graduate, has received the Raritan Valley Community College Non-Profit Civic Engagement Award for her extensive involvement in the community. She completed 45 hours of service learning at Safe + Sound Somerset for her Contemporary Social Problems class in fall 2021. The organization helps survivors of domestic violence. She also served as President of the ESL Club and was an active volunteer with various campus activities. She will be attending Rutgers University beginning in the Spring 2022 Semester to study social work and minor in philosophy.

Museum Exhibit Extended

School and community groups are invited to schedule a free tour of “And in 1948 I came to Canada, The Holocaust in Six Dates,” an exhibition from the Montreal Holocaust Museum, which has been extended for viewing through February 4 at RVCC. The exhibition is being hosted by the College’s Institute of Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Tours may be scheduled virtually or in person, and the public may view the exhibition by appointment.

The exhibition also features photos of artifacts and 30 minutes of video testimonies from Montreal-based Holocaust survivors from the Museum’s collection.
