ACEEE State Energy Efficiency Progress Report
According to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE)'s state energy efficiency scorecard, states accelerated clean energy efforts in 2021.
.
Ambitious new laws were passed to decarbonize state economies with an increasing emphasis on electrification. Several states passed laws that incentivized fuel switching to efficient electric heat pumps in buildings. Buildings account for 40% of total energy consumption in the United States, and given the scale of energy resources dedicated to heating, cooling, and maintaining these structures, there is real opportunity to achieve savings through policies promoting efficiency. Electrification efforts increased in the transportation sector as well, which accounts for about 29% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.

TLP Joins the MaGrann Team!
Last month, we were thrilled to announce that we acquired the sustainability business of The Levy Partnership in New York City! They are a fellow market- leading firm that brings tremendous technical skills along with a local New York presence and experience. With this addition, MaGrann now has local staff from Boston to Washington, DC ready to help our clients deliver efficient, healthy and affordable places to live.

Our Growing Team
Jenna Powell-Malloy joins MaGrann Associates as a Jr. Design Consultant in the DC office. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio, went to school in Chicago, and has lived in the DMV area for about 5 years. Her background is in Mechanical Engineering and she is passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment.
She enjoys spending time outside, playing with her cat Maisy, and attending concerts. She also loves spicy food and likes to put her spice tolerance to the test! She once finished a Chiles Toreados taco from Guisados in LA (made with habaneros, serranos, jalapenos, and thai chiles; the staff came out to congratulate her afterward).

“I am so excited to apply my love of technical problem solving toward implementing energy efficient solutions in the built environment.”
We would also like to welcome Lucas Suchinski to the team! Lucas is a new building energy inspector in Connecticut. Lucas is a huge board game enthusiast. He has a wall full of them and tries to have one for every occasion.

"I am excited to grow with MaGrann. The family and supportive culture is a great breath of fresh air!"
