Save the Date: Walking After Jesus Saturday April 16
Join us for this St. Mark's tradition on Saturday April 16th at 10AM!

"Walking after Jesus" is a telling of the last week of Jesus' life that uses creative storytelling to bring the events to life.

Beginning in the Nave, we will take a journey through Holy Week, but will find ourselves a few steps behind Jesus at every turn. Along the way we will encounter a few people who help to tell the story, and show us where to go next, as we move closer and closer to Easter Sunday. Led by our wonderful clergy and some very animated parishioners, this will be a great way for kids, families and adults to experience the story of Holy Week while we prepare for Easter!
Senior Send Off- May 15
Plans are beginning for our 2022 Senior Send off-- our time to recognize high school seniors as they graduate. Seniors are invited to share their gifts with us in the form of a sermon, music, art or in whatever way works best. If there is a high school senior in your household who would like to participate, please email Caleb.

Community
Grate Patrol
Family volunteering opportunity for one Sunday or many!
Grate Patrol brings an evening meal to homeless neighbors every night serving more than 3,000 people each month. St. Mark's volunteers to make sandwiches and bag lunches on the 4th Sunday of every month. We are looking for families to shop for supplies, help the day of making the lunches, and deliver them to the Salvation Army on New York Avenue. Shopping is a wonderful math lesson on the cost of food and what can be provided within a given budget. Please contact Edna Boone, [email protected] if you are willing to take a month or two.
WIN Social Justice Event
Do you have budding social justice warriors in your house? We invite them to join Washington Interfaith Network (WIN) members from across the District for a virtual rally on Sunday, March 20th at 3 pm to meet with the primary candidates for the District. Please register here.
WIN is non-partisan and never endorse any candidates. WIN invites each candidate to support the  WIN agenda. WIN working on engaging youth across its members – move to come on that.
Suicide Prevention Training with the Episcopal Church

As conversations about mental health in our country continue, the Episcopal Church Youth Network and Faith Formation department have contracted LivingWorks to offer a free introductory course in suicide prevention.
The course is about 90 minutes and is intended to help participants recognize when someone is considering suicide and take quick action to get them help and support.

Their hope is that this course will spark conversation and consideration about ways communities can go deeper to contextualize the learnings and begin to address issues that may be underlying increasing mental health conditions and suicidal ideation. You can find more information and sign up here
