Learn more about the Homelessness Engagement Committee! You don't have to be elected to the neighborhood council to join a committee, or even chair one. In fact, Co-Chair Mike Batistick is not on the board. If you're interested in Homelessness, this committee is the perfect way to get more involved with the Atwater community!
What has this Committee Done in the Past?
Each week members of our Committee, and other Atwater Stakeholders, perform volunteer outreach to the unhoused stakeholders within Atwater Village. We have built hygiene kits, collected food, and worked to get stakeholders, both housed and unhoused, vaccinated in Atwater.
There's a vacancy on the board for the North Atwater position. Any stakeholders 16 years or older who live, work, or own real property in the North Atwater area (north of Los Feliz Blvd) can apply to fill the position.

A New Resource for Rehoming Pets

DACC Provides New Resource for Rehoming Pets:
Announcing the Launch of Home to Home™
One of the toughest decisions a pet owner can face is no longer being able to keep their beloved pet. Pet owners have limited options when rehoming their pet - find a new home on their own, without any safeguards or guidance, or bring their pet to an animal care center, which can cause stress to the pet and family. As part of our commitment of being a resource for pet owners in the Los Angeles County area, the Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) has partnered with Home to Home™ to bring a new interactive tool to help families that need to rehome their pets. This online resource gives pet owners who can no longer keep their pets the opportunity to find them new, loving homes without bringing them to an animal care center. READ MORE
