New Building, New Practices

We are thrilled to welcome our students home to our brand new middle school! Please look over the notes below to know what to expect as we acclimate to our new space!

School Time: 8:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.

School hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. This is a slight change from our current 6th grade schedule, so please make note of those times. Check the Stop Finder App or reach out to Transportation at 513-272-4530 for any bus pick up time changes.

Arrival/Dismissal at IHMS

Bus riders will enter/exit IHMS through the Sue Harder Memorial Performing Arts Center - this is the closest set of doors near the bus circle. Car riders will use the middle school parking lot and traffic flow (there will be no cut-through from the high school lot) and will enter/exit IHMS through the main office entry doors. For safety and supervision reasons, car riders will not be able to enter the building before 7:35 a.m. and students must be picked up by 3:00 p.m. or under the supervision of a staff member, coach, club advisor, etc. after 3 p.m.

We encourage our students to ride the bus to cut down on traffic along Drake Road and prevent school tardiness, but for those who are car riders: Please note our middle school way-finding signage is not in place yet. Car riders will be dropped off at the new main entrance of the middle school. There are arrows in the lot, but this is an all new traffic flow for grades 6-8.

Early Dismissal

Please come into the office to pick up a student for early dismissal, they will not be released to the parking lot.

New Drop Off/Lost & Found

We have a new cart in our foyer area to house items being dropped off to students and Lost and Found. Please continue to bring Chromebook and musical instruments into the office. Thanks!

Attendance Reminders

Parents are required to report all absences and tardies via the attendance line at 513-272-4700 before school starts each day. If your student needs to leave school early for ANY reason, send in a note to the office before school starts so he/she can get a pass that will permit the teacher to let him/her leave early. NEW: You will need to come into the office to pick up your student for early dismissal.

Reminder:  always bring a note from the doctor, dentist, etc. when returning from appointments, this will excuse the absence.

Thank you!

Important Message from Transportation

Until further notice, students will no longer be permitted to ride home on alternate busses unless absolutely necessary and preapproved by our Transportation Department. If you have questions or need further clarification, please contact a member of our Transportation Team at 513-272-4530.
