The Children's Trust Announces
* New or updated
Final Family Expo Pop-Up at Jackson West on Saturday in Doral *
The Children’s Trust will be holding its fourth and final Family Expo event, The Children’s Trust Family Expo at Jackson West Medical Center Drive-Thru, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., this Saturday, September 18, at 2801 NW 79 Avenue in Doral. This event will be a drive-thru only as attendees are not permitted to get out of their cars. Trust-funded providers and other exhibitors specializing in children's learning, parenting, education, health, as well as physical, mental and social-emotional wellness will have booths and will distribute baggies with information and goodies to those in their vehicles. Good news! The Training Expectations lists have been revised and are available on The Children's Trust Training webpage: There are additional trainings and changes to requirements so please read the introduction paragraph and always make sure you are referencing the most up-to-date list (August 2021).

NEW Online Course! Promoting Father Involvement in Parenting Programs
Involving fathers in parenting programs has positive effects on children’s learning and social-emotional development. However, in some instances, it can be difficult to recruit fathers or father figures into services and keep them engaged. In this course, you will learn about diverse family structures, including the importance of using an inclusive definition of "father"’ You will also learn practical strategies to recruit, engage, support and retain fathers and father figures in services.

This online training course is available on Trust Academy and is appropriate for family service direct program staff and administrators.

Communities of Practice for Parenting Program providers are back up and running! Join a community where members support one another, share best practices and deepen their knowledge. All of the following CoPs are currently being offered virtually and are appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of Parenting Programs. If you have any questions or would like additional support, please contact teamcoach@miami.edu.

We know that this uncertain time may be challenging and overwhelming for providers. We believe that, as a community, we have the strength to support one another. During this time, our CoPs will contain extra discussion surrounding COVID-19 and the impact it’s having on your programs, relationships with families, etc.

Parent and Provider Stressors & Barriers - This CoP will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. In this CoP, we will discuss the stressors and barriers that both you as a provider, and the families you serve, face. We will also be identifying solutions, practicing these strategies and discussing the implementation of them into your practice. Click here to sign up or log in to Trust Academy!

Creating Support Networks & Community Outreach/Recruitment - This CoP will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 10-11 a.m. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to create networks of outreach and referrals across parenting providers in the community and discuss program recruitment strategies. You will have the opportunity to get to know other community providers, share information, and support one another. Virtual recruitment will be an ongoing topic. Special Session! The New Normal: Returning to In-Person Services during COVID-19 (Part II)
This CoP will be held on Thursday, September 9, from 9:30-11 a.m. via Zoom. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to share ideas and problem-solve strategies for returning to in-person services for group-based, home-based, and office-based parenting services. We will discuss recruitment, communication, and safety strategies for your staff and participants. Come prepared to share your agency’s ideas to help all programs successfully serve the community. Peer Learning Group Focused on Amplifying Youth Voices at Project RISE *
Project RISE is offering YEN providers an opportunity to participate in Peer Learning Groups focused on how to Amplify Youth Voice in your program. In this planning session, YEN providers will decide how the sessions will be structured to maximize the opportunity to share with colleagues. 

This first session will take place via Zoom on 10/5 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m..

Differentiated Literacy Instruction (DLI) - September 23, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Ask-Listen-Encourage (ALE) - October 29, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 

DLI is *required* for all certified literacy teachers and is recommended for all staff involved in literacy activities.
Injury Prevention Trainings

The Advocacy Network on Disabilities Training Opportunities
Looking for on-site training? Contact your Inclusion Specialist or Pat Donovan at pdonovan@advocacynetwork.org to schedule a training at your site for up to 20 participants. We are currently offering the following two on-site trainings:

Count Me In: Discovering Inclusion for Kids -learn fun, meaningful activities to do with your students to build their disability awareness, and encourage them to appreciate differences. This training helps develop Social-Emotional Skills for children.

Structures for Success - Youth both with and without disabilities can behave in challenging ways. Learn the seven basic needs youth exhibit and take away strategies for meeting these needs through positive, preventive approaches. This training is especially relevant to YEN and YAS Providers.

FREE Parenting Program with Federation of Families
The Triple P Parenting Program is for parents with children who have mild to moderate behavioral issues and are under the age of 12 years old. The Program consists of 10 free, 1 hour, parenting sessions with a Triple P Parent Educator from FOF. Parents will learn and practice the skills necessary to tackle behavioral challenges with various strategies implemented from the evidence-based Triple P curriculum. Sessions are provided in English or Spanish, at home or virtual.

Program Manager at The Children's Trust *
The Program Manager is responsible for administering and monitoring contracts for various early childhood programs and services throughout Miami-Dade County that are funded by The Children's Trust. This position requires occasional non-traditional work hours (weekends and evenings). Background and experience in data analysis, process improvement and analytics is preferred.

The following duties are illustrative for this position: assist with the development and management of the bid solicitation process; monitor funded programs and services; participate in meetings and professional development activities; manage contract amendments and revisions; manage contract compliance; examines and uses data, processes and systems for organizational goals setting.
Associate Director of Programs at The Children's Trust
The Associate Director of Programs, working closely with the Chief Programs Officer, is responsible for leading assigned programmatic areas in the executing of our strategic investments and implementation of various programs. This leader will develop and implement strategies for fostering collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure school-based health services are delivered in accordance with The Children’s Trust standards and the latest evidence-based practices. FSU Young Parents Project seeks a Case Manager, minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, to work with a team in engaging fathers as critical participants in the healthy development of their children.
