Did you know that 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men have been stalked at some point during their lifetime?
January is National Stalking Awareness Month. Along with intimate partner and sexual violence, stalking is a crime that goes chronically underreported, especially since almost three-quarters of all stalking victims know their stalkers in some way, usually as a former or current intimate partner. Child & Family Center’s Domestic Violence Program provides assistance and support to those who are being stalked.
In honor of National Stalking Awareness Month, our fantastic Domestic Violence staff were interviewed by our locak KHTS station. They discussed the different types of stalking, the difference between harassment and stalking, and what to do if you are being stalked. Click the link below to listen to this important conversation.
