Girl Day at UT Austin, including Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day and the Girl Day STEM Festival, will be held virtually Saturday, February 20, 2021 through Monday, March 1, 2021. Students and their parents or educators are invited to join us for 10 days of virtual FREE hands-on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fun.
Join us for special #UTGirlDay sessions and events designed for high school students. With all of Girl Day at UT Austin virtual this year, we're inviting high school students to join us to explore STEM college majors and careers.

Join our lively and reflective conversation as we discuss how to make every child feel welcome in STEM. Our panel will share what they wish their teachers, after-school and volunteer leaders knew when they were growing up and what role we can all play in helping a student build their STEM identity.
Applications due March 19
The Amazon Future Engineer Teacher of the Year Awards honor and recognize 10 all-star teachers working diligently to help students in underserved and underrepresented communities pursue futures in computer science and robotics. Award recipients will be formally recognized by Amazon and will receive $25,000 to expand computer science and/or robotics education at their school plus an additional $5,000 teacher cash award.

Join us to learn how to engage students to become environmental superheroes through sustainability focused activities and eco-audits. Meet our new team member and learn how teachers can empower students to become “environmental superheroes” within their communities by utilizing the classroom (in-person and virtual) and their school as an active laboratory for sustainability based problem-solving.

Join Mr. Armstrong and his class of astro-not-yets as they explore energy and the engineering design process in this new short storybook. As the class awaits the landing of a Commercial Crew spacecraft, Mr. Armstrong challenges his students to create their own spacecraft landing system. Follow along as they use teamwork to complete this design challenge, and learn more about the Commercial Crew Program along the way. Challenge your students to do the “Eggstronaut Parachute Challenge,” where they will design and build parachutes to safely land an egg. Register for free with the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) to have face masks, t-shirts, curriculum, workbooks, stickers, and more shipped right to your school or home. Toolkits are designed for grades 6-12 and are available on a first come, first-served basis for TAME Clubs serving Title I campuses and community groups across Texas.

We sifted through and pulled out the educator-specific professional development opportunities and digital learning and teaching tools aimed at educators to create this list for Texas educators. We will continue to update as we receive resources.

Our team has also gone through the massive lists of resources to try to compile an easy-to-use and more succinct version of recommended STEM resources for families. You're welcome to share this with the families you work with and your networks. We will continue to update as we receive resources.

Get Connected: STEM Email Groups, Volunteers, Mentors
|
|
Join our K-12 STEM Outreach Google Groups! These email groups (open and moderated listservs) are all about sharing resources, information, events, volunteers, needs, and more with others reaching out to K-12 students aiming to excite them about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
For those not in one of these areas who still want to receive information going out to all groups, join the Texas K-12 STEM Outreach group.
