Dear friends:
As I write this, my spirit is buoyed by signs of spring: singing birds, blooming flowers, blossoming trees. Merely to go for a walk is to experience breath-taking beauty.
My disposition is also buoyed by the careful return of practices that anchor our faith. The church campus is now open to meetings, studies, exercise and a variety of other endeavors for which many have longed. And, we’re charting the course to return to in-person worship, taking extra care that both in-person and online worship can be done safely and well for as many people as possible. Thank you for your patience and support.
We’ll also continue our sermon series on Resilience, a seemingly appropriate topic as we try to move wisely and well toward the end of this pandemic. This week we’ll focus on this fascinating passage from John’s Gospel that has much to offer about being resilient through loss. It’s not easy to know what to make of Lazarus’ resurrection, but Jesus’ participation in it offers important and practical insight about how to deal with loss. I trust you’ll find it helpful.
