Sunapee Happenings

Oh no, say it isn’t so! Recent social media posts are touting fall decor, back to school supplies and Pumpkin Spiced Lattes. It seems we’ve barely entered summer, now that torrential rains have ceased and tomatoes are finally ripe on the vine. Here’s hoping we can linger a bit longer in summertime before school buses are on the road again.

CUE THE MUSIC

Tonight at the Ben Mere Bandstand in Sunapee Harbor… The sweet sounds of The Honey Bees band mix up Jazz, Swing, Folk & Rock with flair, fun and a hint of mischief.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION

Join us every Thursday in August at sunset (around 8 pm) in Sunapee Harbor! Please check our Facebook page for weather updates. With luck, the weather will be perfect tomorrow for another “Movie Under the Stars".

SUNAPEE SPOTLIGHT

The Sunapee Gardeners welcome one & all to join them on an informal, free tour of Sunapee’s community gardens! Meet in the Harbor tomorrow / Thursday morning at 9:30. Garden captains will be on hand to answer questions. After ’touring’ the Harbor gardens, we’ll carpool to other gardens ending in Georges Mills. Garden captains will answer questions about the plantings, cultivation and future plans re: a new garden at LSPA. A bit of history: From one harbor garden in the 1990’s , to many such wonderful gardens all about our town, the Volunteer Sunapee Gardeners have continued to “grow” and beautify our community, much to the delight of townsfolk and visitors alike. With funds raised by Garden Tours, over thirty trees have been planted, the Ben Mere Bandstand area refurbished, irrigation systems were installed. Granite benches offer a a restful spot on the lakefront lawn and “Welcome to Sunapee” signs mark our town line. If you have a penchant for gardening, volunteers are always welcome and it's a great way to meet new neighbors.
