Maryland Citizens for the Arts hosts Maryland Arts Day, the largest annual gathering of arts professionals in Maryland. With more than 500 participants, representing all the counties in the state as well as Baltimore City, this statewide arts advocacy event connects artists, educators, administrators, volunteers, patrons and board members with lawmakers from every legislative district in Maryland. 
 
Maryland Arts Day needs your participation to show strong support for the arts in Maryland and its impact on the economic and cultural vitality of the state.

The “Sue Hess Legacy Arts Advocate of the Year Award” is named in honor of our first Chair of the Board of Trustees. The award recognizes individuals whose advocacy efforts have significantly increased support for and public recognition of the Arts in Maryland. Here is the list of all of the winners since the inaugural award was given in 2009:
