President's Message
Hello WTS Members, Friends and Supporters!

Here we are in March already. As I type this message, I am still trying to catch up on the hour of sleep I lost last weekend and enjoyed a slice of Pi (I mean, pie) in celebration of National Pi Day. March symbolizes a month of new beginnings as spring arrives and the weather starts to warm up just a little. I hope you took some time to reflect and celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8. This important day reminds us to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and also prompts a call to action for accelerating gender parity—two things at the core of our organization. To celebrate and commemorate Women’s History Month in March, WTS International is offering a 15% discount on membership to all new members. If you’ve thought about joining WTS before and haven’t made the commitment, now is the time to act.

If you haven’t signed up for our Professional Development Program, “Defend Your Destiny”, on March 29, you’ll need to act fast. Few spots remain, and registration will be capped to keep the group small. We also have a few awesome events planned for April. Our next Lattes & Leadership Event and Diversity Event will both be on the calendar later next month. Watch your email inbox for more details to come, and don’t forget to follow us on and Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Our amazing banquet planning committee is still working on the Annual Awards & Scholarship Banquet, which will be at the Renaissance in Addison on May 13. This event and the proceeds we raise to support our programs, events and scholarships are only possible with your support. If your company is interested in sponsoring this event or donating items for the raffle, please reach out to Committee Co-Chairs Gwen Jurisich or Lani Marshall.

Don’t forget to register for the 2022 WTS International Conference – Mapping Transportation for All, happening May 18–20 in Seattle, WA. If you plan on attending, please let George Cisneros know so we can add you to the list for our Chapter Dinner on Wednesday.

I look forward to seeing all of you at one of our upcoming events. Until then, continue to stay safe, take care of yourself and respect each other.

Caren Chambers, P.E.
President, Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter
The journey continues.

For the first time in nearly three years, WTS International will come together in person for our annual conference, Expedition Northwest: Mapping Transportation For All, on May 18–20, 2022, in Seattle at the Hyatt Regency Seattle and Hyatt at Olive 8!
WTS International members receive the best rate on the conference. Not a member? Join today!
Since we’ve just launched registration, we have a few instructions on how to register below:

  • On the registration site, when you click "Register Now," you will be taken to your MyWTS Profile Page to log-in, and you will be redirected back to registration after log-in. If you do not have an account on MyWTS, you can create one on the next page.

And, we've also opened reservations for the discounted conference hotel room rate through our two hotel options. Please note that there is a limited amount of availability in the conference room block. We encourage registrants to reserve your room with your conference registration.
