VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
PARENT CHAPERONES NEEDED THIS FRIDAY

International School will be hosting the Middle School Games Social after school THIS Friday, January 21 from 3:45–5:15 pm. This will be an opportunity for middle school students to connect with each other over board games, card games, video games, and basketball. We will have game stations set up in the library, commons, and gym, and we need parent support for supervision. Parent chaperones help maintain a safe and appropriate gaming environment by monitoring student activity and redirecting energy when appropriate. You can even join in on the games!

If you are interested and available to chaperone, please email Assistant Principal Traci Sullivan at sullivant@bsd405.org.
OFFICE VOLUNTEER NEEDED

One of the things that makes International School exceptional is the level of support we get from our family volunteers, especially when it comes to volunteering in the main office. We count on daily volunteers to keep things running smoothly throughout the year. We currently need a weekly volunteer for the following time slot:

  •  Thursdays, 8:15–10:15 AM weekly (or rotating)

Volunteers will be required to provide proof of vaccination status. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Assistant Principal Traci Sullivan.
THESE POSITIONS NEED YOU!

  • Advocacy Chair, and Bellevue Schools Foundation Ambassador, current school year
  • Co-VP Fundraising, current school year
  • Co-VP of Communications, current school year
  • Grade-Level Representatives, current school year

Please email the ISPTSA Board to learn more and sign up. Thank you!

IS LOST AND FOUND

FIRST SEMESTER FINALS SCHEDULE

Finals for the first semester will take place January 24–28. Finals periods are spread out so students do not have more than 2 finals on a given day. Not every class will have a final and teachers should be communicating to students what the status is for their class. Friday after lunch is a time for makeup finals for high school students. High school students may leave early if they complete all their finals. Middle school students will have class. Click HERE for the finals schedule. For questions, email the International School Main Office.
CHECK SCHOOL EMAIL REGULARLY

With TEAMS Chat disabled, school email is now one of the primary methods for staff to communicate with students. It is also a key communication tool between students. Be sure to check your school email inbox daily!

NEW WINTER COVID DASHBOARD

Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, BSD had to change the way COVID case counts are reported. The new Winter COVID-19 Dashboard (January 4, 2022 – present) displays reported COVID cases of students and staff, whether or not they were in district buildings during their infectious period. Since this dashboard is not managed by contact tracers, it does not include information on transmissions, outbreaks, and quarantines. Questions? email BSD.
COVID TESTING CONSENT

Testing may only occur with permission and consent. You may provide us with information on your desire to opt-in or opt-out of the COVID-19 testing by completing this COVID Testing Consent form. Because the Washington Department of Health requires the district to obtain written parental consent for minor students, any student that does not provide consent will not be tested. For questions, email BSD.
NEW GUIDELINES FOR ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE

BSD has updated isolation and quarantine guidance to align with the Washington State Department of Health and Public Health – Seattle & King County. Timelines and protocols for who and how long people should quarantine or isolate are updated on our website. For full details on the change, please visit our Responding to Cases and Suspected Cases webpage. For questions, email BSD.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICE REMINDERS

As COVID-19 continues to move through the area, the number of bus drivers available to transport students on any given day may fluctuate. As a result, there may be a temporary cancellation of specific routes. The department assesses route coverage on a daily basis, which is determined by driver availability. If your student’s route is canceled, you will be notified via the parent portal through Edulog, by 5:30 AM that morning. Sign up for Edulog here. For questions, call District Transportation at (425) 456-4512.
