The Urban Futures Pathway is the University of Cincinnati’s strategic investments in research infrastructure, talent, and activities in four verticals: 

1. Use-inspired/applied research (Digital Futures); 
2. The arts, humanities, and social/behavioral sciences (Society & Culture); 
3. Biomedical & sustainability R&D (Bioscience & the Bioeconomy); and 
4. The development of P3 projects and partnerships.

Funding the Future
The New Urban Futures Pathway Fellowship

Dr. Todd Foley will serve as the inaugural UC Office of Research – Urban Futures Pathway Fellow. Dr. Foley’s passion and expertise is centered on advancing the collective mission and impact of the non-profit sector in and around our community, region, and nation. Starting November 1, 2023, Dr. Foley will embark on a 12-month research project with Digital Futures NPO Affiliate, Adopt-A-Class (AAC).

Society & Culture Research Advancement Program
The UC Office of Research is incentivizing novel research, exceptional scholarship, and the production of creative and performing art works that creatively address issues of increasing societal significance.

The FOA for this award will be released in January 2024.
Michelman Green, Clean, and Sustainable Technology Research Innovation Program
Through this program, the UC Office of Research is incentivizing applied resarch demonstrating new and marketable scientific and technical (S&T) innovations intended to address real-world problems in the Green-tech and Clean-tech fields.

UC Coalition for Change (C3) Fund
Building on previous and current internal investments as part of Research2030, the Office of Research seeks to incentivize novel research, exceptional scholarship, and the production of creative and performing art that addresses issues of increasing significance to our community.
