Find Joy in Community!
I pray that this message finds you well in these days, and that you experience the hope and the peace of Christ as we care for one another's health and wholeness.
This Sunday, we gather for worship as one community whether online or in-person, united by God's Spirit. We will focus on our commitment to be and become anti-racist, reflecting on role models of our faith seeking justice, like the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose birthday we recognize this weekend. I look forward to connecting with you in worship as we consider our call to love one another as God loves.
I also encourage you to get involved in a small group, if you have not done so already, as an added means to care for your spiritual and social well-being during what can be an isolating and/or stressful season. See "Small Groups" on our website. We find joy in community, and joy is precious! There are ways to do this via Zoom as well as in person with precautions. We as the Water's Edge Faith Community want to be a supportive presence, as we rely on God's sustaining grace. See you Sunday!
Blessings,
Jessica

The Church and Omicron
We encourage everyone to do all you can to stay healthy and to protect the most vulnerable. To this end, the church will be doing our best to keep the staff safe and healthy so that our ministries can continue. Some postponements will occur, and some programs will return to Zoom-only for this immediate threat. Again, the main focus is to keep the staff safe so that the church can continue to provide worship and ministry opportunities.
Enforcement of our continued restrictions is for the benefit of the most vulnerable and the youngest among us. These include required masking whenever you are on the Mission Valley or Ocean Beach campus. Masks must be medical grade and worn over your nose and under the chin. Keep physical distance as much as possible, no food service will be allowed or provided for the time being, and if you feel ill with any kind of symptoms, please stay home.
In addition, if you have been exposed to a person who has tested positive for COVID, get tested yourself within 5 days. If you contract COVID, stay quarantined for 5 days after the absence of any symptoms.
Thank you for loving your neighbor in these ways.
Rev. Trudy
