Burrell College Medical Student Awarded TOMF Scholarship
One Burrell medical student has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship from the Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation (TOMF). Bradley Poindexter, OMS-III, was unanimously chosen for this award by the TOMF Grants, Scholarships, and Awards Committee.
Student Organization Feature: Eastern New Mexico Youth Medical Explorers
A new student organization has formed at Burrell College, which is uniquely focused on the medically underserved communities of Eastern New Mexico. The Eastern New Mexico Youth Medical Explorers (ENMYME) was established in Fall 2021, and after much planning and coordinating held their first events this January.
Michael Anderson is a third-year medical student at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine and a former college basketball player. His journey to medical school saw him trade a life on the court for a life in a clinic. Currently, Michael is completing his clinical rotations at the Tucson Regional Academic Center in Arizona.
Christopher Zaknoun is a third-year medical student at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine who has always had a passion for science and anatomy, even as a child. He pursued that interest throughout his primary education, eventually taking an anatomy class in high school.
