Be the Match
March 23 | 12 - 2 pm | Macon campus
The Korean American Medical Student Association is hosting a Be the Match drive to encourage students to join the marrow donor registry. Be the Match is a nonprofit organization operated by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) dedicated to helping patients facing life-threatening blood cancers find matches for life-saving transplants procedures through their registry.
 
If you’re interested in being a donor, you'll only need to provide a swab sample. This process should take no more than 15 minutes. If you would like to volunteer to help with explaining the registering process, collecting kits, and other administrative duties, you can sign up here.You will also receive volunteer hours for your CV or for non-DISC hours for a DISC project.
Become a Student Contributor
Student Wellness is looking for student contributors for the Wellness Connection section of the student newsletter. Articles are re typically 800-950 words long and published on the first Monday of the month. Topics can include anything related to well-being for students, such as tips for avoiding burnout, staying healthy or coping with stress. If you’re interested in writing for this column, submit your name, email, and topic idea.

AAMC Virtual Specialty Forum

The AAMC Careers in Medicine® program is hosting its annual virtual specialty forum where medical students can view resources, chat with specialty representatives and AAMC staff, as well as attend live presentations with Q&A. Learn more
Service Leadership Conference Date Change
April 4 | 4 - 7 pm | Savannah Auditorium
Students involved in DISC projects are invited to present their work at the Savannah Service Leadership Conference. The conference will be held in-person on the Savannah campus or virtually via Zoom. Year II and Year III students on all campuses with approved DISC projects are welcome.

MUSM students learn mindfulness and compassion through music

First-year medical students took a break from their textbooks recently to learn about mindfulness and compassion through music. On March 8, Mercer School of Medicine hosted an all-day, interactive workshop, titled "Nurturing the Inner Healer."
