Dear friend of PPP,
As this strange and challenging year comes to a close, we are taking time to reflect on the positive moments and accomplishments of 2020.
This year we were able to:
- Certify and place 3 new Service Dog Teams, including placement within a court-involved youth program and a mental health rehabilitation facility
- Re-certify 11 PPP Service Dog Teams
- Provide veterinary care & pet food to service-dog clients in need of financial assistance due to COVID-19 hardships
- Rescue, train, and place 12 pets in loving homes (Paroled Pet adoptions)
- Provide in-person and remote learning opportunities for 16 incarcerated women at WCCW
- Continue training of our 8 service dogs-in-training
- Support several previously incarcerated program graduates with post-release scholarship funds for education and supplies
We are so grateful and humbled by the continued support of our amazing community and advocates. The staff at PPP is excited to begin an inspired visioning process to create an even better Prison Pet Partnership, where we can serve more individuals and animals in 2021. we'll end this year by leaving you with a sweet story of one of this year's most dynamic service dog teams.
See you in 2021, separately but together!
The Staff at PPP
