October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which originally started as a week-long event 1985. The goal of breast cancer awareness month is to educate people. Empowering them with tools and knowledge to understand risk factors and get tested. Early detection of breast cancer is associated with a higher survival rate.



Breast cancer is silent and does not discriminate. Besides skin cancer, breast cancer in women is the most common type of cancer diagnosis. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS) less than 1 percent of all breast cancers diagnosed in the United States are in men.

You can be a part of the progress to end breast cancer by getting involved through research, community work or advocacy efforts. Help save lives today!

See Hub Locations – via Virtual Registration - ATL (200 seats), San Ramon (75 seats), and Bedminster (100 seats), Bratislava Slovakia (30 seats). Each location above will have Food and Beverage as well as an onsite activities during the day (10/13).

• Virtual Table Talks and T-shirts will be limited and offered to virtual registrants first.
• There is no waitlist for Virtual, but any drops will be offered to be filled for Virtual Table Talks.

Our annual eSTEAM Fair is on day of service, October 14, 2023. We need a few STEM kits to give away at the eSTEAM Fair. All items are under $20.00. We plan to use as door prizes and to award maximum participation. We ask for members to purchase one or more STEAM kits from Amazon.

The NETwork is looking for volunteers to assist with The NETwork Membership tables (in person and virtual) during the EG Conference as well as various tasks during The NETwork National eSTEAM Fair on Saturday October 14, 2023 10a – 2p CST (including set up before and clean up after the event). ​

Gregory (Greg) Hendricks joined The NETwork DFW chapter after attending our staple Celebration of the Arts event. He jumped in headfirst willing to assist where we needed someone on point to drive programmatic execution. He not only has been vocal how to grow the chapter and drive engagement, but he has rolled up his sleeves to do the work necessary to see change.

Greg helped execute our annual Juneteenth Scholarship and Community Celebration where we awarded $15K in scholarship. As we think about our roadmap, Greg is in a position to help refine the Program Planning committee. In addition, he will be a part of the committee for the 2nd EG Pre-Conference Meet & Greet - DFW’s Casino Night kicking off the 2024 Scholarship Campaign. Greg will be instrumental in ensuring we are reaching our diverse generational pool and driving modernization efforts to transform the chapter.

Greg does not hesitate to support or raise his hand to drive momentum in the Program Planning arm of the NETwork DFW. He will help to define and revamp the mission of the Networking and Community pillars where we conduct annual programs such as Celebration of the Arts, Juneteenth, NETwork Vibes and eSTEAM efforts. His fervor for identifying new opportunities to gain experience and tenacity are all essential traits to leverage as we are hyper-focused on continued growth.

The DFW chapter is honored to have the talent and commitment from Mr. Greg Hendricks. We are excited to see how he continues to grow professionally and personally.
